The Accounting Intern supports the Accounting team with day-to-day financial operations while gaining hands-on exposure to property-level and corporate accounting functions. This role is structured to mirror entry-level staff accountant responsibilities under supervision and guidance.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team leaders, corporate leadership, owners, and residents.

• Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice review and coding.
• Support monthly and periodic close activities, including reconciliations and schedules.
• Assist with preparation and review of property-level financial statements.
• Help enter journal entries and support general ledger maintenance.
• Perform basic variance analysis and assist with financial reporting.
• Organize and maintain accounting documentation and support audit requests.
• Assist with special accounting projects and process improvements as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Completion of introductory accounting coursework preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred.
• Prior internship, coursework, or project experience is a plus but not required.

• Frequently sit, stand and walk.

• Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.
