Position Summary
The Senior Project Accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of ledgers and financial systems as well as assisting in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year end closing. The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by reviewing financial reports prepared by accountants.

- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
- Manages accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls and promotes ethical environment
- Maintains accurate records for all vendor files including payment terms, joint checks, etc
- Reconciles ERP with Project Management software
- Responsible for cash management
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
- Reviews financial reports completed by accountants and ensures that all deadlines are met within their portfolio
- Report on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable weekly
- Accounts Receivable Functions
- Review and prepare Owner Payment Applications in coordination with Project Teams.
- Coordinate with the Owner and Lender to meet all funding requirements.
- Innovate to improve on the draw process for each job
- Accounts Payable Functions
- Prepare payments by verifying compliance documentation and requesting disbursements
- Assists with year end reporting including, but not limited to annual filings, audits and tax returns
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA certification preferred, but not required
- Sage/Procore Experience preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting or construction finance experience
- Frequently sit, stand and walk
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate
