Accounts Payable Analyst I (Remote – Nashville, TN Based)
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire (3–6 months)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (flexibility available)
Location: 100% Remote (Must be able to attend monthly in-office meetings in Nashville, TN)
Pay: Dependent on Experience (DOE)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst I to join a fast-paced, high-volume accounting team. This role focuses on analytical problem-solving, invoice research, and vendor support rather than basic data entry. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a remote environment while collaborating closely with a team.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for long-term growth, including advancement to Analyst II or Senior Analyst roles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and statement reconciliation
- Review and validate purchase orders, invoices, and vendor statements for accuracy and compliance
- Research and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies by partnering with vendors, procurement, and internal teams
- Provide professional support and troubleshooting for assigned vendors
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow-up on outstanding issues
- Analyze AP data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and support continuous improvement
- Assist with audits, management requests, and provide backup coverage as needed
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Work within an automated ticketing system, processing an average of 100+ invoices per week
- 0–2 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas
- Experience with an ERP or accounting system (SAP or Ariba preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while contributing to a team environment
- Manufacturing or high-volume accounting experience
- Exposure to SAP, Ariba, or similar ERP systems
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- High school diploma required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
