Lead Accountant

I’m partnered with a stable and growing industrial products and distribution company headquartered in the Nashville area to help them hire a Lead Accountant to support and enhance their general ledger and financial reporting operations. This is a high‑impact role for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and the chance to help strengthen processes in a well‑run, people‑first company.

• Lead the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with accuracy and efficiency
• Manage and review journal entries, accruals, and key reconciliations
• Oversee and maintain the general ledger structure and chart of accounts
• Analyze account activity and proactively resolve discrepancies
• Produce financial statements, internal reporting, and audit schedules
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors
• Research and apply GAAP guidance and support policy development
• Collaborate with external tax partners and internal AP/AR/Payroll/Operations teams
• Support ERP enhancements (Net Suite preferred) and improve accounting processes
• Contribute to SOP improvements, internal controls, and process‑efficiency initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  
  Strong technical accounting and GAAP knowledge
• ERP experience (
  Net Suite strongly preferred
  )
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities
