SHR Talent is partnering with a publicly traded world recognized organization in Nashville, TN in its search for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing organization at the forefront of their industry. The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role will have a strong background in accounting within a public company environment, exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and experience working in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations
  • Lead the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and maintain strong internal controls
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations to support quarterly and annual audits
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in accounting processes and contribute to the implementation of best practices
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a publicly traded organization
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Net Suite, SAP, or Oracle
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
