Senior Accountant

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in Nashville, TN in its search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting core accounting functions, month-end close, and financial reporting activities. The Senior Accountant position is ideal for a self‑directed accounting professional who is intellectually curious, comfortable working independently, and motivated by problem‑solving rather than rigid task execution.

The Senior Accountant role sits on a high-performing accounting team and offers a hybrid work schedule, providing flexibility within an otherwise in‑office environment.

• Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting
• Research and resolve accounting issues, applying U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and sound professional judgment
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business activities and ensure proper accounting treatment
• Analyze financial data using advanced Excel skills to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Assist with process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting procedures
• Utilize Microsoft 365 tools such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc. to support collaboration and reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4 – 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Public accounting experience, particularly audit, strongly preferred
• Combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience, highly desirable
• Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and general accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills within a Microsoft 365 environment
• Ability to work independently without the need for detailed daily instruction
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
