Overview
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records by reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing accounting data. This role supports the ongoing maintenance of the general ledger and contributes to timely and accurate financial reporting through hands-on accounting activities.
Responsibilities- Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Investigate and resolve account variances by gathering and evaluating financial data
- Record routine financial transactions within the company's ERP system
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
- Assist with monthly and annual close activities
- Maintain organized and compliant financial documentation, primarily in electronic format
- Provide supporting schedules and documentation for audits and internal reviews
- Develop customized financial reports tied to client or contract requirements
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and leverage automation
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial services, or a comparable environment
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working within ERP systems
- Collaborative team player with the ability to support and drive process improvements
