Summary: At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we’re continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we’re seeking a dedicated Chemical Worker
- Driver professional to join our team. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this role will drive gasoline or diesel-powered trucks to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form.
- Transport hazardous materials in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
- Read and interpret customer orders, shipping papers, or purchase orders.
- Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips; submit condition reports as required.
- Pick up products from vendor warehouses, verify correctness of product, volume, and paperwork, and deliver to Company warehouse or customers.
- Maintain accurate driver logs according to I.C.C. regulations and complete required paperwork such as bills of lading, waybills, inspection reports, driver log, trip reports, and container return reports.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks; operate forklifts as needed.
- Collect empty containers and products that need to be returned.
- Perform routine inspections on truck equipment and supplies.
- Perform warehouse tasks including maintaining warehouse cleanliness and assisting with housekeeping.
- Respond to incidents or safety hazards based on the site’s emergency action plan.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage; respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site’s emergency action or contingency plan; prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2+ years related experience and/or training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (all classes) and Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements, or ability to obtain certifications.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.
- Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.

- Physical requirements include lifting and moving various weights up to 100 pounds.
- Physical requirements will also include standing or sitting for long periods of time.
- Visual abilities include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Work environment includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions and mechanical equipment.
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and noise.
- Occasionally work at elevated, precarious heights and could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic or caustic chemicals.
