Position Overview

As an Operations Specialist – Omni you’ll be responsible for the operational execution within the Pet Care Centre with specific focus on our Omni channel, through the lens of Petco’s vision of “Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World.” You’ll ensure the efficient execution of all Omni channel processes such as Ship from Store (SFS) operations to maintain consistency with product picking, packaging and shipping in the Pet Care Centre.

This role is responsible for a reduction in time spent on SFS operations through increased familiarity and process efficiencies. You’ll also assist in receiving merchandise and supplies, ensuring accurate stocking, and provide guest service as necessary.

Position Responsibilities
  • Support the effective and efficient operations across the Pet Care Centre.
  • Assist in completing daily SFS picking, packing and shipping.
  • Assist with unloading and stocking merchandise/releases & supplies according to operational guidelines to ensure the Pet Care Centre is well stocked, properly set and maintained with accurate supply counts.
  • Process register transactions in a way that creates a great experience for each guest.
  • Be proficient within our selling model and support guest interactions as needed.
  • Adhere to and promote established safety procedures.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the professional image and appearance of the Pet Care Centre.
  • Participate in the completion of quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Complete Omni Channel and SFS projects following policies and procedures; include cleaning, planogram sets, proper labeling and signage, fixture needs, disposal of RTV items, appropriate hazardous waste storage and clean‑up.
  • Analyze on‑site conditions and recommend necessary corrections; troubleshoot resolutions.
  • Coordinate with Store/Field partners to ensure proper fixturing, floor‑plan set‑up and stocking.
  • Communicate with Store Leaders about remaining unfinished orders and SFS WIMR screen corrections at end of day.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma (or GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics, above‑average communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with a genuine interest in animal care.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for public interaction.

Work Environment

This role supports key operational hours with weekend availability. The majority of duties are conducted indoors; however, receiving and carrying merchandise (up to 50 lb) may require brief outdoor activity, bending, kneeling, and long periods of standing. Please follow safety precautions to minimise injury risk.

Contacts

The position involves continuous contact with the public at the Pet Care Centre and related events, and regular coordination with other departments in the field, Distribution Centres, and Support Centres. External coordination may include merchandise returns, ordering parts, repairs, vaccination clinics, events, and vendor meetings.
