Howyou will make an impact:
The Junior Production Planner helps ensure the right products are built at the right time, balancing demand, capacity, and material availability. By maintaining accurate schedules and work orders, this role minimizes delays, reduces changeovers, and improves on‑time delivery performance. The planner partners closely with production, procurement, and quality to resolve constraints and keep daily operations flowing. Their attention to data accuracy and proactive communication directly supports inventory health and cost control.
Overall, this role is a key contributor to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Build and update daily/weekly production schedules based on demand signals, capacity, and prioritization rules.
- Run MRP, review exceptions, and collaborate with buyers to resolve material shortages and delays.
- Release, update, and close production work orders; verify BOM and routing accuracy and implement ECO changes.
- Maintain planning parameters (lead time, safety stock, lot size) to improve flow and reduce stockouts.
- Track schedule adherence, aging work orders, and past‑due demand; drive corrective actions with stakeholders.
- Prepare and communicate short‑interval plans and line‑of‑balance visuals for shop floor execution.
- Support root‑cause analysis for misses (late jobs, expedites) and recommend plan adjustments.
- Assist in capacity planning (labor and machine) and sequence optimization to reduce changeover and downtime.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, standard work) within planning and production.
Required:
- Associates’ degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field or commensurate experience.
- 2 years in production planning, materials planning, or related operations role.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP transactions (work orders, BOMs, routings, MRP exceptions).
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with basic data analysis and KPI tracking.
- Ability to read and interpret BOMs, routings, and production schedules.
- Collaborative mindset; able to coordinate with production, procurement, and quality in fast‑paced settings.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience with SAP PP/MM, Oracle EBS/Cloud, or similar ERP planning modules.
- Basic analytics tooling (Power BI/Tableau) or SQL for data validation and reporting.
- Experience supporting ECOs and change control within ERP.
- Exposure to capacity modeling, finite scheduling, or line balancing.
