How you will make an impact:

The Shipping & Receiving Material Handler helps ensure efficient, accurate, and timely movement of materials throughout the facility. This position supports production flow by maintaining precise inventory records and verifying that all incoming and outgoing shipments meet quality and documentation standards. By proactively coordinating with internal teams and external carriers, the role helps minimize delays and sustain operational continuity. The Material Handler also upholds safety and compliance within warehouse operations, contributing to a secure and well organized work environment.

Through reliable execution of daily tasks, this role directly impacts customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, and overall supply chain performance.

  • Unload, confirm, unpack and check goods received against purchase orders with appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks and inspect and report any damage or discrepancies in shipments.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing them with bills of lading, invoices, or other records.
  • Receive inventory items using computerized system (JDE) & WCBC.
  • Tag raw materials as accepted or rejected and store in an appropriate place.
  • Perform Inventory Cycle Counts or Physical Inventories as required.
  • Complete related records, reports and paperwork.
  • Prepares finished goods for shipments.
  • Prepares and maintains records of shipment.
  • Loads material for shipment on truck.
  • Pick orders and deliver raw materials to production in designated location.
  • Remove and store raw materials no longer needed on production floor.
  • Remove finished products and prepare for storage.
  • Complete related records, reports and paperwork.
Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a forklift operator, material handler or equivalent position
  • Must be willing to work shift work, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to be exposed to chemicals, high level of noise, moving machine parts, and electrical equipment.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or commensurate experience.
  • Operate material handling equipment, (including forklift and electric pallet jack).
  • Have the capability to perform off-site functions as needed, such as local pick-up or delivery of items.
  • Ability to perform the required functions with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Ability to read, write, keep neat and accurate records, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work with computer systems, JDE, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Experience working with secure shipping and exporting is a plus.
