Position SummaryThe IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the computer systems, networks, and technology infrastructure of The Nash Casino. This includes ensuring all hardware, software, and network systems operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with gaming regulations. This role works closely with other departments to ensure seamless technology support across the property.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktop systems, printers, and networking equipment.
- Monitor and support all property network systems, including LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on hardware and software issues across multiple systems.
- Maintain system backups, security patches, and updates in accordance with IT best practices.
- Assist with deployment of new technology systems and upgrades.
- Support Point of Sale (POS) and casino management systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support to all departments in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain asset inventory, licensing documentation, and configuration records.
- Ensure compliance with all security and gaming IT policies, including data protection and access control.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for repairs, installations, and software updates.
- Perform preventative maintenance and participate in after-hours emergency support when necessary.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support, network administration, or systems management.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Azure administration.
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco, HP, or equivalent).
- Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper‑V).
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam or similar).
- Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including endpoint protection and patch management.
- Experience with POS systems, gaming hardware, and related peripherals is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and able to obtain and maintain a valid New Hampshire gaming license.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Work is performed in both office and casino floor environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of computer or networking equipment.
- Frequent walking, bending, and standing required.
- Must be able to work in areas where noise levels and lighting may vary.
- Regular exposure to electrical components and systems.
- Maintain professionalism and calm under pressure, especially during system outages or emergencies.
- Must be available for on‑call support and flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
