This position is in the Engineering Department at Pennichuck, which is primarily responsible for design, construction, and management of water distribution and water treatment capital projects. This position works closely with Pennichuck’s Distribution and Water Supply Departments, and the City of Nashua, along with other municipalities or communities served by Pennichuck. The ideal candidate should be a NH Licensed Professional Engineer, or an Engineer-in-Training on a Professional Engineer track, have two to four years of drinking water system design experience including on-site management of construction projects, and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, municipal staff, and contractors.

Job Responsibilities:

Engineering Design & Technical Support
  • In accordance with customer needs and industry and company specifications, design, plan and execute water distribution projects.
  • Plan and design water distribution system installations and improvements; prepare detail plans and specifications for project bidding.
  • Evaluate the distribution network using hydraulic modeling, master plan and fire flow tests.
Project Management
  • Plan and manage engineering resources to effectively meet deliverables within established budget and timeframe.
  • Coordination of distribution projects with the City of Nashua and other municipalities and communities served by Pennichuck.
  • Review developer proposals which may include hydraulic modeling, plan review, and/or construction inspections.
  • Prepare estimates and schedules of water distribution capital improvement projects.
  • Draft contract addenda and document additional project expenses.
  • Review and approve distribution project documents, such as equipment specifications, reports, and contractor invoices.
Qualifications:

Entry Level Engineer
  • Entry level
  • Working knowledge of utility, road design, and construction.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in civil/site engineering.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in utility, road design, and construction.
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Five (5) - seven (7) years of experience in civil/site engineering.
  • Progressive experience in utility, road design, and construction.
