We design and manufacture a wide range of innovative connectors as well as cable assemblies for diverse applications including server, storage, data center, mobile, RF, networking, industrial, business equipment, and automotive.
This role supports the Mechanical Integrity group. Job functions will include assisting in performing material analysis for the usage of next generation interconnects, aiding in the mechanical testing of electrical connectors and components, processing and analysis of testing results, and assistance in the development of fixtures used in testing.
What You’ll Do- Support the product design effort by conducting material analysis (DSC, TGA, mechanical testing, microscopy, cross section)
- Assist in the development and execution of test plans for the validation of new components for next generation interconnects
- Support the R&D extrusion trials in the pilot scale line
- Machining and fixture design
- Work closely with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel
- Support the development and validation of product prototypes with flow simulations
- Interfacing with different engineering disciplines in the design and manufacturing process of interconnect products
A good candidate should be at least a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or Materials Engineering programs.
- Knowledge of thermoplastics extrusion. Wire & Cable extrusion experience is a plus
- Knowledge of thermoplastic injection molding
- Proficiency in Pro‑E or Solidworks
- Experience with plastics analytics testing
- Experience with Moldflow or Moldex3D desirable
- Experience with machining and fixture design are a plus
- Ability to communicate with technical colleagues
