Position: NPI Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

NPI Design Engineering Intern – 2026 Summer Internship Program

Location:

Nashua, NH

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally.

We are currently seeking a Design Engineering Intern to join our team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH.

Responsibilities

The Design Engineer Intern will support one or more NPI Engineers in all aspects of daily work.

What you'll do
  • Process mapping / validation analysis against design entitlement
  • Time studies / line balancing
  • Quality /SPC / defect analysis and risk assessment
  • Prototype / low volume manufacturing
  • Process design improvement
  • Product and process transfer to alternate manufacturing sites
  • Manual, Semi, Automated tooling design
  • Operator training
  • Product derivative design adaptation to current manufacturing processes
  • Process documentation creation / revision and Technical paper (TMS ) creation / revision
  • Coordination with relating groups:
    Program Management, Product Engineering, Development Engineering, Mechanical and Signal Integrity, Geographic Manufacturing Sites and suppliers
  • Product packaging design and testing
Qualifications

A strong candidate will have completed their freshman, sophomore, or junior year in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering, or be a graduate level student studying engineering with an interest in design, product engineering, project management, or business related fields.

  • Demonstrated computer skills including MS Excel and MS Power Point
  • Experience with Autocad, Pro Engineer, VISIO is a plus
  • Verbal and written communication skills
