OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Nashua Technology Center is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Construction – Building Trades Teacher to develop and deliver hands‑on instruction aligned with New Hampshire Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards. This program prepares high school students for postsecondary education, apprenticeships, and careers in the construction and building trades industry through a combination of classroom instruction, lab/shop experiences, and work‑based learning opportunities.

The ideal candidate will bring industry experience, a strong commitment to safety, and a passion for mentoring students in both technical and employability skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be eligible for New Hampshire Department of Education CTE teacher certification or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in construction, building trades, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and industry standards.
  • Ability to work effectively with high school students in a hands‑on learning environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring youth or apprentices preferred.
  • Experience with curriculum development and competency‑based education preferred.
  • ESOL Certification Preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and deliver engaging, hands‑on instruction in construction and building trades.
  • Teach and reinforce proper use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Emphasize job site safety, OSHA standards, and safe work practices at all times.
  • Integrate classroom instruction with lab/shop‑based learning.
  • Align curriculum with NH CTE competencies and industry standards.
  • Assess student progress using a variety of instructional and evaluation methods.
  • Manage and maintain a safe, organized, and effective lab/shop environment.
  • Collaborate with CTE colleagues, academic teachers, administrators, and industry partners.
  • Support work‑based learning experiences, including job shadows, internships, and apprenticeships when available.
  • Participate in CTSOs, advisory committees, open houses, and recruitment activities.
  • Maintain required documentation and comply with district and state reporting requirements.
