• Title 1 schools require highly qualified status, which includes an associate’s degree or two years of college, a bachelor’s degree, Para educator II certification or successful passing of the Praxis for para educators for highly qualified status.

• Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist in implementing and reinforcing the instructional curriculum.
• Help prepare and administer testing, and provide input to teachers, guidance counselors, and school administration regarding student performance.
• Assist preschool students by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned age groups.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the assigned program by helping students with assignments using materials and technology.
• Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist with implementation of IEP goals and objectives related to educational needs, social‑emotional and behavioral development, fine and gross motor skills; assist with physical and minimal health needs of children (lifting, feeding, toileting/diapering, personal hygiene).
