As Service Technician, you are primarily responsible for troubleshooting MEP systems for all Harper Limbach customers. This person will be counted on to quickly and efficiently diagnose problems, communicate the scope of effort out to customers, and identify the most cost‑effective and timely solutions.
Position OverviewSome examples of the work you might do include:
- Diagnose problems within building systems and either resolve or escalate them as appropriate.
- Utilize HVAC diagnostic equipment to identify systems issues.
- Review blueprints and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
- Leverage knowledge of building plans to inspect structures and locate key serviceable items.
- Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports to ensure all billing is accurate.
- Work directly with customers to develop solutions to all concerns, issued in order of magnitude.
- Upsell ongoing maintenance contracts to non‑contract customers, when appropriate.
- Employ specialized techniques, equipment, and materials to accelerate the diagnostic process.
- Direct apprentices engaged in any type of repairs, and coach them in the proper means and methods for quality, safe, and effective execution of required work.
- Service, repair, adjust, and test mechanical devices and equipment.
- Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify causes of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and resolve or escalte them appropriately.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 6+ years of MEP service experience in industrial, commercial, and/or building HVAC preventive maintenance.
- Universal EPA Certification.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft and Google products.
- Ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers in a way they can understand.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.
- Ability to travel locally up to 75% of the time.
- Completed OSHA 30‑Hour Training.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Maintains appropriate Company confidentiality at all times.
