Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Road Mechanic to join our team. This role focuses on performing on-site and mobile repairs for heavy-duty trucks, including Kenworths, Freightliners, concrete trucks, and vacuum trucks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a variety of commercial vehicles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient fleet operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Kenworth, Freightliner, concrete, and vacuum trucks, both in-shop and on the road.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and hands-on testing.
  • Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and other critical truck systems.
  • Conduct emergency roadside repairs safely and efficiently to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventory reports.
  • Ensure all repairs meet company safety standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Collaborate with fleet managers and dispatchers to prioritize repair schedules and maintain fleet readiness.
  • Keep work area, tools, and service vehicles clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 1+ years of experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanic, preferably with experience on Kenworths, Freightliners, concrete trucks, and vacuum trucks.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to perform roadside repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and repair manuals.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or required depending on job needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and with heavy machinery.
