Description

$19.00 to $31.25 per hour. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in "fast-tracking" into a Store Management position. It requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of store management experience. The trainee is accountable for the day‑to‑day operations, promotes a positive environment, partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop staff, recruits and retains top talent, and manages customer relations. The trainee analyzes financial statements to meet financial goals, commits to the asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions.

The role covers a range of merchandise, including jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Pay varies by location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent via company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures protect assets.
  • Maintain asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
  • Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal‑setting.
  • Ensure operations meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain loan integrity.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling).
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products from storage areas.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
  • Flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
  • Will work 45+ hours a week; hours are not guaranteed.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and office machines.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
