Chief Development Officer Role Summary
Seeking an experienced Chief Development Officer to lead all fundraising and development efforts for a mission-driven nonprofit. This role drives short- and long-term revenue strategy, donor engagement, campaigns, and organizational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all fundraising initiatives, including annual giving, capital campaigns, grants, endowment, and planned giving
- Oversee the development team and retail fundraising operations
- Build and steward relationships with major donors, board members, and community partners
- Lead donor communications, branding, and public-facing materials
- Plan and execute signature fundraising events
- Manage donor database, reporting, and gift agreements
- Partner with executive leadership and the Board on development strategy and reporting
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of fundraising or development leadership experience
- CFRE credential required
- Demonstrated success with donor cultivation, campaigns, and events
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and donor management systems
- Valid U.S. work authorization
- Florida Driver's License
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Salary range: $130,000–$160,000
- 36-hour work week
- Generous PTO (200 hours annually)
