Laser Swiss Machinist - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• 1.1 Safely control and operate Citizen Laser Swiss lathes and various machines involved in production.
• 1.2 Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes and similar equipment.
• 1.3 Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• 1.4 Inspects machined parts with precision gauges and inspection equipment, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• 1.5 Good understanding of GD&T.
• 1.6 Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• 1.7 Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• 1.8 Performs daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly PM’s as required.
• 1.9 Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• 1.10 Performs other related duties as assigned.

• 2.1 At least one year of related experience required.
• 2.2 Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
• 2.3 Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
• 2.4 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 2.5 Familiarity with FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP compliance.
• 2.6 Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
• 2.7 Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program preferred.
• Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for education requirements.

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand or walk; use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable.
• Includes exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Work environment is temperature controlled.
