Assistant General Manager

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to assist the GM in directing daily business operations. The AGM should be experienced in supervisory role, and be able to confidentially deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork and clearly communicate business objectives. This is a dual property position.

The incumbent is required to have previous AGM Hotel experience to be considered for this position.

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with our core values.
• Oversee hotel departments to ensure an optimal level of service and hospitality are provided to hotel guests.
• Assist the GM in preparation of forecasts and reports and assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the budget to maximize revenue and minimize expenses while ensuring adequate supplies and staff are on hand to provide top quality customer service.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and brand standards and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• The Assistant General Manager will also oversee smooth operations of Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Front Office Departments and interact directly with the head of departments if necessary
• Monitor and maintain the front office systems and equipment to ensure optimum performance.
• Serve on the hotel’s safety committee.
• Create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely action plans to remedy guest service deficiencies.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

• Extends professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
• Motivates and encourages staff to solve guest and employee related concerns.
• Provides excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable for all guests.
• Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
• Assists employees in understanding guests ever-changing needs and expectations, and how to exceed them.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred or
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
• Intermediate knowledge of overall hotel operations.
• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends, nights, and alternate shifts.
