JOB SUMMARY
The RN Coordinator Professional Practice is responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of the PPE program. Will work in close collaboration with Medical Staff leadership on providing accurate clinical summaries, data trending, reports, and analysis. The Coordinator Professional Practice RN will also monitor significant trends by analyzing aggregate data and monitoring the performance of all practitioners, including behavior concerns, and identify areas for performance improvement and the quality of care we provide.

The RN Coordinator Professional Practice will work closely with the Director Practitioner Quality and Director of Physician Leadership and Strategic Integration to develop a peer collegial conversation program. This position is responsible for meeting with Medical Staff leaders to periodically ensure that the professional practice criteria (FPPE/OPPE) are appropriate to the department/ specialty in which the leader represents. This position is responsible for providing any individual education/training on our quality data systems and reviewing all practitioner quality data (FPPE/OPPE) with Medical Staff leaders on pre-determined cadence and on an as needed basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify cases meeting the criteria for clinical case review through pulling reports from various data systems.
Analyze preliminary (RN level) findings of retrospective Morbidity and Mortality review using indicators and screening criteria developed and approved by the Medical Staff.
Collect data as specified in the Professional Practice Evaluation (PPE) Policy for aggregation, analysis, and presentation.
Collect data as requested by hospital committees as defined in the PPE-Policy including but not limited to Leadership Council, Physician Excellence Committee, or others for ongoing trends or outlier status and to identify opportunities for improvement. Create charts and graphs to facilitate the communication of data trends.
Develop and support the new peer review collegial conversation program.
Maintains a file on each practitioner for tracking and trending and regulatory purposes.
Maintains a close working relationship with the Committee Chairpersons and members.
Follows the Peer Review Process as outlined in the MePPE Policy.
Prepares a summary of all the medical records and other relevant data sources to be reviewed by the PPE Committees.
Responsible for setting the agenda and recording minutes for the MePPE Committees.
Attends Medical Staff meetings to facilitate the peer review process as designated.
Creates and maintains records of the professional practice outcomes.
Coordinate follow-up planning processes and activities when necessary.
Coordinates activities with all hospital departments involved in data collection, scheduling of meetings, and interfaces with the Medical Staff Services Department to facilitate communication and appropriate meeting support.
Expediate timely and accurate triage of Medical Staff related Risk Events Notices, including variance report and patient grievances to the appropriate parties.
Knowledgeable of Evidence-based, CMS and TJC clinical metrics (i.e. Core Measures, AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators, Hospital Acquired Conditions)
Coordinator Professional Practice RN reports directly to the Director Practitioner Quality and Professionalism.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.
Strong clinical background with a minimum of three years of recent acute care experience with a minimum of two years in Performance Improvement preferred.
Intermediate computer knowledge:
Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
