We are a growing outpatient behavioral health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Our team values professionalism, organization, empathy, and a commitment to supporting patients on their mental-health journey. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our clinical team.
Position SummaryThe Medical Assistant will support daily clinical and administrative operations, including provider scheduling, assisting with patient coordination, managing medication prior authorizations, and ensuring smooth workflow throughout the clinic. Experience with Athena One EHR is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with outpatient provider scheduling, appointment coordination, and patient reminders.
- Support medical providers by preparing charts, updating patient records, and managing clinical documentation.
- Complete and submit medication prior authorizations, refill requests, and communicate with pharmacies and insurance plans.
- Check patients in/out, verify insurance, and maintain accurate demographic information.
- Assist with measuring vital signs and basic clinical intake when needed.
- Track lab orders, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-friendly clinical environment.
- Collaborate with the care team to support smooth daily operations.
- Athena One EHR data entry, chart management, and task navigation (preferred but not required).
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA) preferred; experience may substitute.
- Previous experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or a mental-health outpatient setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with Athena One EHR or another electronic health record system.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of insurance processes and medication authorization workflows.
- Excellent communication, customer-service, and patient support skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with compassion and professionalism.
Full-time position (Monday–Friday).
