Description
Community School of Naples (CSN), an independent college preparatory school in Southwest Florida, is currently seeking a motivated and talented Upper School (grades 9‑12) Math Teacher beginning August 2026. This full‑time position would teach five classes, with an average class size of approximately 14‑16 students. While the specific classes can vary based on a candidate’s skillset, preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Geometry and Algebra II.
Other responsibilities include serving as an advisor to 12 students and supporting CSN’s competitive math team. The Upper School cultivates the ability to think critically, constructively, and communicate clearly and accurately their ideas, thoughts, and results. A successful candidate should demonstrate passion and expertise in teaching math, and a willingness to develop a vibrant, challenging curriculum that allows students to engage through research and experimentation.

The appointment is for a full‑time, instructional position for the 2026‑27 academic year with a start date of August 10, 2026. The position is paid on an annual salary basis, commensurate with experience and other qualifications. - Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of teaching experience required.
- Experience in teaching research or competing in math, engineering, or science fair competitions is a definite plus but is not required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet important deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, high‑stakes environment.
- Commitment to participating in professional organizations, conferences, subject‑related competitions, etc.
- Lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
- Stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Sit at a desk while working on the computer.
- Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, crouch, and balance regularly.
- Withstand outside weather conditions.
- Detect and exchange accurate information.
- Have close visual acuity to perform essential functions of the job.
- Withstand a moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Fingerprinting and background checks are required as part of CSN’s employment eligibility process.
