PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION

The purpose of this classification is to maintain inventory of uniforms, equipment and supplies, oversee building maintenance projects, and provide delivery services for records and supplies.

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Monitors inventory levels of uniforms, duty gear, supplies and equipment; maintains adequate levels of supplies to ensure availability; oversees recertification of radar units and hand‑held lasers; oversees and participates in periodic physical inventories; completes inventory reports and maintains related files.
  • Receives and distributes orders for a variety of uniforms, duty gear, supplies and equipment; prepares and submits purchase orders; forwards invoices; verifies accuracy and completeness of incoming orders; identifies incorrect or damaged items; unpacks and stores incoming supplies; communicates with vendors regarding status of orders, discrepancies, or problem resolution; distributes uniforms, duty gear, supplies and equipment to requesting officers; maintains computer files and documentation for all purchases, receipts and distributions.
  • Oversees building maintenance; monitors condition of building and facilities; initiates work orders to correct deficiencies; coordinates with Facilities Maintenance department and outside contractors on all major building maintenance issues; coordinates required building inspections as needed.
  • Coordinates department vehicles, trailers, generators, and equipment procurement, inventory, inspection, and repairs with equipment services.
  • Picks up and delivers department records and building maintenance supplies and materials; loads and unloads records, supplies and materials as needed to complete assigned projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge of supply sources and product developments.
  • Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, RMS, word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, e‑mail, or other software; and operates a motor vehicle, general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in inventory management, building maintenance or related field
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
