Sr. Cost Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team on a contract basis near Naperville, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting, analytical expertise, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in analyzing costs, improving processes, and contributing to financial forecasting efforts.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze margin reports to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

- Manage cost accounting processes, including cost of goods sold calculations and supply chain analysis.

- Contribute to forecasting efforts by preparing accurate financial projections.

- Assess current procedures and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

- Support general accounting functions and ensure compliance with financial standards.

- Conduct in-depth cost analysis to determine cost drivers and optimize profitability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain and manufacturing cost challenges.

- Develop and maintain standard cost accounting systems to streamline operations.

- Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to stakeholders.

- Monitor and evaluate financial performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goals.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing.

- Expertise in standard cost accounting and cost analysis.

- Strong understanding of cost of goods sold and supply chain processes.

- Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations.

- Proficiency in general accounting principles and practices.

- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
