Position Summary
We are seeking an individual who is looking for opportunities to gain more experience in the field of Viticulture. The ideal candidate will have a passion for knowledge and a willingness to learn, with a background in Viticulture or the Wine Industry.
Job DescriptionThis is a temporary full-time, on-site internship assignment. Schedules are determined on an as-needed basis to keep up with grape processing. This may include weekend work, and overtime. We hope to start this assignment on or around May 1, 2026.
Responsibilities- Pest and Disease Scouting
- Assist with crop estimating
- Water Stress Monitoring
- Irrigation Uniformity Checks
- Insect Trap Monitoring
- Harvest Maturity Sampling
- Operation of ATV
- Participate in training and safety programs to enhance job performance and knowledge.
- Safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal, company property, environmental and team member’s safety.
- Ability to work for at least 8 weeks during the summer
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends and overtime
- Pursuing a degree in Viticulture/Agriculture or related field (Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree)
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable means of transportation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills – oral and written
- Experience in computer applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Previous harvest experience
- Strong sense of commitment
- Self-starter attitude
- Junior or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Ag Business, Horticulture, Ag Systems Management, Bioresource engineering, Viticulture, or Enology. OR working towards a Master's degree in the school of Life Sciences, Engineering, Agricultural Sciences or Business.
- Skilled at working with individuals from diverse and varied backgrounds.
- General viticulture knowledge.
- Grape pest and disease identification.
Physical Requirements
Involves prolonged outdoor exposure to a range of weather conditions, loud noises, toxic chemicals and working near moving mechanical parts. Frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouch or crawling in vineyards. Must be able to stand and walk over rough or uneven terrain. Must be able to move up to 55 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work long hours during crop estimation periods and harvest.
