Produce Manager – Lucky – 1312 Trancas St., Napa, CA 94558Hiring pay range: $30.67 - $30.67
- Provides customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service.
- Achieves department financials (sales, profit and loss, projections, metrics, and analysis) by identifying, defining, and implementing best department practices and optimization strategies utilizing innovative solutions.
- Directly leads department staff with focus on accountability and achieving high level of business performance for the department.
- Develops department staff through annual appraisals, supervision reports, goal setting, quarterly progress reviews, and employee surveys.
- Implements department’s visual merchandising and plans providing innovative solutions, emphasizing fresh products and effectively utilizes resources to improve productivity and the quality of the shopping experience.
- Oversees schematic implementation, stocking standards, item to tag integrity, and back‑room organization.
- Manages product rotation, spoilage, shrink, and markdowns.
- Ensures department cleanliness and overall conditions.
- Manages sign and price integrity.
- Ensures produce products are prepared according to company guidelines.
- Trains department staff on procedures, hands‑on safety, and food safety.
- Orders product using the order/inventory system, pre‑orders, and promotion/seasonal planning.
- Analyzes and manages product performance to maximize sales and profitability.
- Maintains accurate inventory.
- Prepares produce/floral products for display according to company policy.
- Contributes to overall store conditions, including safety, food safety, sanitation, hazardous waste, and protection of company assets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership/team‑building, and training skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and suggestive selling ability.
- Strong organization, administration, and math skills.
- Knowledge of department operations and financials; produce and floral products; special produce needs for seasons/holidays; trends in cooking and recipes that affect demand; department food safety and hazardous materials rules/regulations; visual merchandising techniques; use and care of professional produce tools and equipment; applicable union contractual agreement language.
One year of college (or vocational school or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience).
ExperienceTwo years of Produce Department experience – or – current Center Store, Meat, or Bakery Department Manager role.
OtherAvailable to work a variety of required retail hours.
PhysicalStore environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects; requires lifting up to 40 lbs.
