Job Description
Join Target as an On-Demand Guest Advocate (Cashier) for the General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, and Style teams.
The starting hourly rate is $19.00 USD per hour.

About On-DemandYou will not be included on the posted weekly schedule but will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members.
Service and Engagement- Communicate and interact with guests to build an inclusive guest experience.
- Blend problem-solving and decision-making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns.
- Adapt to different guest interactions and situations.
- Promote and engage around various benefits, offerings, and services.
A typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests.
- Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
- Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store.
- Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
- Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards.
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
- Make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
- Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest.
- Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and the other features and offerings within the Target App.
- Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate leaders as needed.
- Partner with leaders as needed to de-escalate any situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
- Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area.
- Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members.
- You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active, and physically demanding role.
- You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts.
- Communicating effectively, including using positive language and being attentive to guests' needs.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members.
- Attention to detail while multitasking.
- Willing to educate guests and engage around products and services.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
- Work both independently and with a team.
