Description
The River Terrace Inn is a luxury hotel located along the Napa River near Oxbow Public Marketplace, the Culinary Institute of America, and downtown Napa. The ALBA Bar & Cafe is open daily for breakfast and small bites in the evening at the Bar. The property includes 114 rooms, a fitness center, and three private rooms for banquets & catered events.
This role is part of the Alba / RTI (River Terrace Inn) team, with a waterfront location close to restaurants, attractions, and transit options.
The Front Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing all front office operations to ensure an exceptional, seamless, and personalized guest experience consistent with the standards of a luxury hotel. This role leads the front desk team, manages daily operations, resolves guest concerns with discretion and professionalism, and collaborates closely with other departments to deliver flawless service from arrival to departure.

- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Active participation in guest feedback responses and billing resolution and chargebacks
- Maintain and enforce Marriott brand standards, service standards, and operating procedures
- Able to problem-solve and identify potential risk related to guests, employees, and property that could result in financial loss
- System Proficiency:
Oversee Front Office computer system operations, ensuring software maintenance, report generation, and system integrity are handled effectively and efficiently - Handle VIP arrivals, special requests, and guest recovery situations with discretion and efficiency
- Maintain a visible presence in the lobby to engage with guests and monitor service quality
- Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise front desk associates and supervisors
- Coach and mentor team members to deliver consistent luxury service
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback
- Foster a positive, professional, and guest-focused work environment
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet business demands, with leadership coverage beyond scheduled hours as needed
- Maintain ongoing communication with the team and hotel leadership to provide direction and support; leadership availability and responsiveness are expected based on business needs
- Build strong relationships and key communication with all other departments
- Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Work with Director of Rooms to develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and labor controls
- Review daily reports, revenue summaries, and operational metrics
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit standards, and compliance requirements
- Participate in monthly, weekly leadership meetings as required by the DOR and GM
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive Front Office experience
- Experience leading a Front Desk team
- Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills; promote an environment with open communication and lead by example
- Preferred experience with Marriott and Light Speed PMS and operational software including Windows and Excel
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs if required
- Availability to work a flexible schedule based on hotel operational needs
In return, the Front Desk Manager will be rewarded with competitive compensation. We offer health benefits, a health program, paid vacation, Pay on Demand, and a 401k savings plan eligible after 90 days of employment. Company match is currently 50 cents per dollar of employee contribution up to 6% and is subject to change. The match is effective on the first of the quarter following one year of employment.
Employees are eligible for the Employee Rate and Family & Friends Rate discount programs at Noble House and Marriott properties.
Exempt Full Time Salaried position: $71,000 and eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan.
