The Position

Napa County is currently recruiting to fill one Supervising Therapist vacancy within the Public Health Services Division (PHS) of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA).

The Supervising Therapist provides leadership and oversight for the California Children’s Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Program (MTP), ensuring high quality physical and occupational therapy services for infants, children, and young adults with disabilities. The Supervising Therapist works closely with families, CCS Nursing, schools, and community partners and serves as a key member of the Public Health Leadership Team. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming, accessible, and supportive therapy environment while strengthening program operations, compliance, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing direct supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluation for clinical and ancillary staff.
  • Collaborating closely with the CCS administrative case management team, PHS leadership team, regional and statewide groups and other internal and external partners.
  • Interpreting and implementing CCS regulations, policies, and program guidelines.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the MTUOnline electronic medical record and coordinating DME and orthotic recommendations and procurement.
  • Supporting program operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, quality improvement efforts and regulatory compliance.

The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate

  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and commitment to collaborative, high quality, equitable, and family centered care.
  • Experience and passion for providing pediatric occupational or physical therapy services, preferably for children and youth with special health care needs with neuromuscular or orthopedic conditions.
  • Knowledge of neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions, assessment tools, treatment planning, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME)/orthotic recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage program operations, staff support, documentation oversight, and regulatory compliance.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in navigating varied assignments, shifting priorities, and program needs.
  • Clear, compassionate communication that supports teamwork, builds trust, and strengthens partnerships with families, schools, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • Ability to resolve conflict effectively while maintaining positive working relationships.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Agreed Salary Increases and Winter Time Off:
