OT Outpatient

Duties

• Provide outpatient occupational therapy services to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on improving patients' daily living activities and overall quality of life.
• Conduct assessments, evaluations, and discharge planning to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in pre-discharge planning and provide patient/family education on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention.
• Maintain accurate documentation and billing records in the Epic charting system.
• Work one weekend day (typically Sunday) every other weekend, with potential floating to acute rehab and other inpatient floors as needed.

• Experience in hand clinics, pediatric outpatient, and adult outpatient settings is preferred.
• Competence in treating conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries, and arthritis.
• Proficiency in adaptive equipment assessment, cognitive assessment, and sensory integrative testing/treatment.
• Ability to perform splinting, ultrasound, and other orthopedic modalities.
• Strong skills in patient/family education, home exercise program development, and safety and injury prevention.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an occupational therapy role.
• Experience in community hospital settings is preferred.
• BLS certification required; CA license required.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred.
