Promoting Opportunities – Supporting ChoicesNorth Bay Regional Center (NBRC) is a nonprofit Regional Center in California that provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. NBRC serves Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties and partners with community-based organizations to empower clients to thrive and live as independently as possible.

Under the direction of the Clinical and Intake Director, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) develops, implements and monitors behavioral services to ensure safety, positive behavioral changes and continuity of service delivery. The BCBA closely interfaces with individuals served, service providers, staff and other behavior service providers.
RequirementsMINIMUM
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, education, special education, or a related field is preferred;
Bachelor’s degree is required. 3–5 years of experience post-certification as a BCBA, with at least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Individual must be certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a background in various behavior services (e.g., direct intervention; clinic intervention; behavior supports for various service providers).
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to develop positive behavior strategies.
- Strong interpersonal communication and advocacy skills for meetings.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic charting.
- Perform behavior assessment of the needs of individuals served.
- Collaborate with individuals served, families, NBRC case management and clinical staff to ensure health, safety and positive behavioral change in a quality setting.
- Identify and utilize community resources; participate in resource development.
- Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Titles 17 and 22; behavior assessment and intervention; development of behavior plans for direct support; accessing behavior supports through managed care.
- Contribute to increasing the quality of clients’ lives.
- Ability to provide personal automobile transportation or access to reliable transportation during and after working hours.
- Provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
- Ability to travel to NBRC offices within the catchment area to provide training and support.
- Occasional travel outside the catchment area, including overnight travel for statewide meetings, dental clinic observations, and resource development.
- If operating own vehicle, maintain minimum automobile liability insurance.
- Flexibility in work hours to meet regional center needs.
- Position based primarily in the office; hybrid work arrangement may be available.
- Fluency in a language other than English is desirable and may be required.
- Collaborate with individuals served, families, NBRC case management, clinical staff and service providers to ensure health, safety and positive behavioral change; travel across three counties as needed. Provide oversight of specialized behavioral homes with monthly DDS review.
- Conduct documentation reviews and observations to determine support needs.
- Conduct meetings, interviews, evaluations and document findings.
- Represent the agency’s philosophy, policies and standards in the community and in the office.
- Consult with vendors and community agencies regarding program development and standards.
- Evaluate the quality of programs serving people with developmental disabilities.
- Visit individuals served in their homes and day programs.
- Apply sound case management and counseling principles.
- Participate in all team/unit meetings and required trainings.
- Maintain current workload with complete and accurate documentation.
- Interact tactfully and effectively with all contacts in the course of work.
