The City of Napa is seeking applicants for one (1) Police Property Technician opening in Napa Police Department. The Property Division is led by our Police Records Bureau Administrator who oversees a team of two (2) full-time Police Property Technicians and one (1) part-time Police Property Technician. This current opening is to fill one (1) vacancy for a full-time Police Property Technician.

As a Police Property Technician, you will thrive in a fast-paced work environment and play a vital role to ensure proper storage and disposition of property booked into the Napa Police Department for evidence and safekeeping. You will perform a wide range of technical support activities associated with receiving, documenting, tracking, systematically storing, safekeeping, and lawfully releasing or disposing of property and evidence.
Our Police Property Technician is also responsible for maintaining and protecting the physical integrity and complete chain of custody of evidentiary items. We are looking for a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills who has a proven track record of handling sensitive and confidential information, material, or evidence.
The ideal candidate is an individual who is dedicated towards public service and knowledgeable about property room procedures such as properly handling, recording, preserving, storing, release, and disposing evidence or property. Applicants with prior experience in handling and storage of evidence and property with a city, county, or state law enforcement agency are encouraged to apply.
