The Police Department's goal through this selection process is to identify those candidates that are currently ready to take on the role of Police Lieutenant and to identify competency strengths and areas for development for all officers that, through applying for the Police Lieutenant role, have demonstrated interest in furthering their career with the City and ensuring a path for continuing development.
InformationSessions
Interested candidates are encouraged to attend Information Sessions to learn more about the expectations for the role as well as selection process preparation. The Information Sessions will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM and Friday, January 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM in the HR Training Annex (located within the HR Department at 1541 Second Street). If you would like to attend the Information Session virtually via Microsoft Teams, then please email the Human Resources Department for instructions on how to participate remotely.

In addition to meeting qualifications, you will have experience in demonstrating the following competencies:
