The Department of State Hospitals – Napa seeks an Analyst I (ANALYST I) to manage the Hospital Position Report and employee roster. The role reports to the Supervisor II (Exam and Hiring Manager) and is responsible for maintaining a roster of all budgeted and blanket positions, analyzing data using the Management Information Retrieval System (MIRS) and position‑control spreadsheets, and preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive statistical reports.
Responsibilities- Analyze and update the Hospital Position Report and employee roster on a flow basis.
- Maintain a roster of all budgeted and blanket positions.
- Utilize MIRS, position‑control spreadsheets, and other resources to analyze data.
- Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive statistical reports.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, managers, and other stakeholders to clarify and explain analytical information.
- Complete the STD 678 Employment Application in its entirety and include "Analyst I JC-503813" in the Job Title(s) section.
- Include all experience and education relating to the minimum qualifications listed in the classification specification.
- Provide a completed STD 678 and any required supporting documentation; a resume will not be considered for minimum qualification assessment.
- Submit a copy of proof of degree or transcript if using education to meet the minimum qualification.
- Provide a foreign transcript evaluation (CL‑635) if applicable.
- Pass the Analyst I Exam, unless otherwise eligible for transfer or reinstatement.
- Clear a background investigation and obtain medical clearance prior to hiring.
- Knowledge and experience in State Personnel Transactions.
- Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with data entry and data analysis.
- Ability to interpret and apply principles of public personnel management.
- Ability to make sound recommendations to management.
