Receiving & Inventory Lead

Overview   GARDENWORKS  is British Columbia’s largest independently owned garden centre company with 10 locations across Vancouver’s lower mainland, Vancouver Island, and South Okanagan. Join GARDENWORKS and play a key role in inspiring people to cultivate joy and beauty in their homes, gardens, and communities. This is a full-time position with compensation of $23.00 – $25.00/hour.
Responsibilities    Receiving & Inventory Control   Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments from vendors and internal transfers
Accurately check deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips
Identify, document, and communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages
Manage product flow from truck offloading to appropriate staging areas and onto the sales floor
Ensure product is handled, stored, and rotated safely and correctly
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area

POS & Administrative Support   Enter received inventory into the POS system accurately and in a timely manner
Print and apply price stickers, barcodes, and product labels as required
Process inventory write-offs for damaged, expired, or unsellable merchandise
Prepare and manage RTVs (Return to Vendor), including documentation and system entry
Maintain organized and accurate receiving records
Support inventory counts, audits, and seasonal changeovers

Physical Requirements   Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, crouching, and reaching for extended periods
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required
Forklift Certification (we can provide training), palette jack operation

Qualifications & Skills   Previous receiving, warehouse, or retail inventory experience preferred
Experience working with POS or inventory management systems an asset
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
Basic computer skills (data entry, printing, scanning)
