Reporting to the Speech‑Language Pathology Coordinator and receiving work direction from Speech‑Language Pathologists as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary health care team, the Speech‑Language Rehabilitation Assistant assists designated clients with rehabilitation treatment programs designed to improve the client's communication and swallowing abilities. The assistant assists with client treatments, administers routine procedures, documents client progress, prepares appropriate client materials and activities, maintains augmentative communication and related equipment, keeps an inventory of supplies, reviews referrals, collects information, and works cooperatively with families, professionals, agencies and community members.
QualificationsCompletion of a Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant Program or a Rehabilitation Assistant Program that includes theory and clinical practice experiences pertaining to adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Ability to keyboard at 55 words per minute.
