Role Purpose

The Program Coordinator I will plan, develop, implement, and oversee the day-to-day operation of Connective’s Program(s) as well as participate in program development, policies and procedure formulation, program evaluation and budget preparation.

Hours (40 Hours per week)

Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 - 20:00

Reporting and Working Relationships
  • Reports and is accountable to the Program Manager of the facility or their designate
  • Facilitates the delivery of programs and initiatives to adults, and their families and loved ones, relating to effective intervention and community reintegration
  • Liaises with Connective’s staff to support the agency’s initiatives and to deliver person-centered services in keeping with our philosophy
  • Liaises with other community and government agencies in the area
Key Accountabilities
  • Plans and develops the programs in consultation with the Program Manager or their designate.
  • Plans and implements program activities and special events.
  • Makes recommendations to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation, and program evaluation.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the program(s) by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing requirements are met.
  • Provides direct support services as assigned by Program Manager, Senior Manager or their designate.
  • Monitors and authorizes program/s expenditures and maintains financial records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
  • Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.

    Along with the other residence staff, monitors and ensures effective operation of the facility, including quality control concerning cleaning equipment, indoor and outdoor maintenance, inventory, and food services.
  • Provides input into meal delivery, including food inventory and orders.
  • As assigned, organizes, and oversees the delivery of meals and involves the residents in this process.
  • On-call availability as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Working Conditions
  • Functions independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team.
  • Adheres to Connective policies and procedures.
  • Transports self, staff, volunteers, and others with a reliable vehicle throughout the areas, including remote locations and correctional facilities as needed.

Experience and Skills
  • A university Degree or diploma in a relevant branch of the Behavioural Sciences with an emphasis on Social Work, Sociology, and/or Psychology
  • Two (2) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
