Instructor, Geography

Duties:

We seek an experienced Geographer to prepare and deliver online and face-to-face course content, assess and evaluate students, and facilitate student integration of theory and practices. The successful candidate will teach a variety of human geography courses, including multiple sections of one of our foundational (first year) undergraduate courses (Geographies of the World, GEOG 100). Other courses to be taught would be:
Space, Place and Culture (GEOG 330), and either Health Justice (GEOG 363), or Climate Justice (GEOG 364).

A doctoral degree (or ABD) in Geography or a related discipline from an accredited institution; recent experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the relevant subject areas; and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Candidates who hold a Master’s degree and have multiple years of relevant human geography teaching experience may be considered.

PhD in Geography from an accredited institution. Priority will be given to those with teaching competencies in human geography. Experience with integration of indigenous perspectives, critical geography approaches, and a commitment to innovative teaching practices and technologies into the curriculum are highly desirable.
