Instructor, Geography
Duties:
We seek an experienced Geographer to prepare and deliver online and face-to-face course content, assess and evaluate students, and facilitate student integration of theory and practices. The successful candidate will teach a variety of human geography courses, including multiple sections of one of our foundational (first year) undergraduate courses (Geographies of the World, GEOG 100). Other courses to be taught would be:
Space, Place and Culture (GEOG 330), and either Health Justice (GEOG 363), or Climate Justice (GEOG 364).
A doctoral degree (or ABD) in Geography or a related discipline from an accredited institution; recent experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the relevant subject areas; and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Candidates who hold a Master’s degree and have multiple years of relevant human geography teaching experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:PhD in Geography from an accredited institution. Priority will be given to those with teaching competencies in human geography. Experience with integration of indigenous perspectives, critical geography approaches, and a commitment to innovative teaching practices and technologies into the curriculum are highly desirable.
