Family Practice

The Gracemed Clinic, located in central Nanaimo within 1 km of the Nanaimo Regional Hospital, currently offers opportunities for full-time and locum physicians.

Benefits include excellent income potential through fee-for-service billing and a 30% overhead contribution. Shift hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with flexible options available. Physicians typically see 20-50 patients daily, both virtually and in-person, with optional hospital obstetrics. No walk-in service is provided, but arrangements for Saturday walk-ins can be made upon request. Electronic medical records are managed via Med Access, with scheduling, banking, and billing handled by the Office Manager.

The clinic offers a relaxed, friendly environment with supportive staff, six examination rooms, a minor surgery room, and additional offices and a coffee lounge on the mezzanine level. Free underground secure parking and patient parking are available. The building also houses two gynecologists/obstetricians and a dental office.

The clinic assists in building a patient panel and provides guidance on complex care and chronic disease billing. Support and community connections are offered to help with lifestyle and accommodation needs.

The practice owner participates in Continuing Professional Development through Doctors of BC and the Nanaimo Division of Family Practice.

Community Information: Nanaimo, with a population of 90,000, is a vibrant urban center on Vancouver Island, approximately 100 km north of Victoria. It offers excellent access via flights, float planes, or ferries to Vancouver, along with cultural and educational opportunities such as the Port Theatre and Vancouver Island University. The area is renowned for outdoor activities, including running, golfing, and winter sports at Mount Washington.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30/9:00 am to 4:00/5:00 pm, with flexibility.
