Assistant Site Superintendent - Commercial / ICI Construction (Salary $90,000 - $120,000)

Location: Victoria or Nanaimo, BC

Experience Level: 2–5 years

The Role

The Assistant Site Superintendent will support the Site Superintendent in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and ICI construction projects. This role involves active participation in daily site operations, coordination of subcontractors, and support of project schedules, safety, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the site leadership team to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents. This position offers strong exposure to all phases of construction and is well suited for an individual seeking continued growth in site supervision on Vancouver Island.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Superintendent with daily site coordination and execution
• Assist with scheduling, sequencing, and short-interval planning
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics
• Enforce site safety standards and participate in safety meetings
• Conduct site walks and assist with deficiency tracking and close-out
• Maintain site documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and progress photos
• Help ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Communicate effectively with subcontractors, consultants, and internal project team members

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial or ICI construction
• Field experience supporting a Site Superintendent or project site team
• Exposure to concrete, structural, building envelope, and interior scopes
• Working knowledge of construction sequencing and site logistics
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow direction while working independently
• Familiarity with construction management software (Procore experience considered an asset)
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade background or technical construction education
• First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS, or similar safety certifications
• Experience on commercial or ICI projects valued at $5M+
• Previous experience working on Vancouver Island projects
