As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide expertise to empower Indigenous communities, organizations, businesses and individuals in navigating a dynamic social, political and economic environment.
Our clients include various First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities as well as Indigenous organizations and associations across the country. We support our clients to develop strategic, business and operational plans that are thoughtful as much as engagement driven. Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of full cycle accounting operations, including financial transactions and reporting
Collaborate with clients, internal team members and relationship managers to ensure high-quality Indigenous EASE client engagements
Monitor and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and reporting, including compliance with regulatory standards
Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance reports
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare and publish timely, accurate and compliant financial statements and related reports
Assist with new engagements by providing the required information for client setup and deliverable creation
Maintain and update charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts
Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
Maintain flexibility to travel to client sites
Skills And Experience
CPA designation (CAFM designation considered an asset)
Experience working with full-cycle accounting processes
Knowledge of Sage 300, Sage Intacct, Adagio, Xyntax, QBO or Xero considered an asset
Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations preferred
Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles

The annual salary for this position is $70,000 - $78,500. Compensation is based on location, individual skills and relevant experience.
