Viking Veterinary Hospital - Nampa Veterinary Technician

Viking Veterinary Hospital, LLC, a fast-paced emergency and critical care veterinary hospital, is seeking a Veterinary Technician for our overnight ER shift (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 7pm-7am). We welcome applications from Certified Veterinary Technicians or experienced veterinary assistants interested in ER work, including those currently employed in an ER setting seeking new challenges.

Salary Range: $16 to $25 per hour

Job Overview

As a Veterinary Technician in our ER department, you will provide exceptional care to emergency patients, working closely with veterinarians and team members to ensure high-quality treatment and support during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with triage, stabilization, and emergency treatments
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Perform lab tests, including bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Monitor patient vital signs and provide nursing care
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist during procedures
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Communicate with clients regarding patient status and care plans
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team on patient care
  • Keep the work environment clean and organized
Requirements
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or experienced veterinary assistant
  • At least 1 year of emergency medicine experience
  • Ability to work swing and overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Compassionate attitude towards animals and owners
