Reporting to the Information Technology Operations Manager, the Classroom Systems Support Technician will have responsibilities in multiple areas of IT, including Video Conferencing support, ITS Project/Policy Management, Level II/III Help Desk support, and Classroom Technology support. This position may be scheduled to work varied hours (and occasional weekends, as needed). This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates video conferences, including maintaining and sharing schedules, testing and set‑up/tear‑down of equipment.
  • Ensures successful data connections and operation of equipment.
  • Provides Second Tier Support for all Audio/Video (Distance Education) Technicians.
  • Provides Audio/Video services to multiple sites.
  • Performs troubleshooting and routine maintenance of AV equipment and computers.
  • Manages classroom teleconference technology.
  • Teaches staff, faculty, and TA's how to best utilize video conferencing equipment and software.
  • Manages and administrates the NNU’s Distance Education Program for teleconference classes.
  • Serves as Help Desk Level II/III support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience in technical support.
  • Sufficient skills, knowledge and training to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Ability to learn the use of video conferencing equipment and methods of connection.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to perform basic trouble‑shooting of technical problems with equipment and IP connections.
  • Short‑notice availability for non‑regular hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavy, bulky furniture, bending, lifting overhead.
  • Basic network understanding.
  • Ability to work independently and within the team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (via phone) to assist video conference participants in using the equipment successfully.
  • Must be dependable, with a proven record of punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of video conferencing equipment and methods of connection.
  • Knowledge of web conferencing.

Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience.
