Description
Nampa Christian School seeks a dedicated and compassionate certified teacher to provide academic support services for students in grades 6-12. This position will run our Learning Commons which is a learning space that focuses on helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic success while integrating Christian values and principles into all aspects of education. The Academic Support Teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and administration to help students set and meet academic goals as well as provide any necessary targeted interventions.
- This position is an exempt, salaried position contracted for the school year (August - May).

- Provide direct academic support to students with identified learning differences or academic challenges
- Conduct small group and one-on-one sessions across core subject areas
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching and assessment methods to meet diverse learning styles and needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Work closely with classroom teachers to keep students up to date on class work, pre-teach content and/or accommodate assignments and assessments
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and strategies
- Serve as an advocate for students with learning needs
- Conduct informal assessments to identify student strengths and areas of need
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention strategies
- Model Christian character and values in all interactions
- Integrate biblical principles into academic support activities
- Participate in school chapel services and spiritual development activities
- Support the school's mission to develop students spiritually, academically, and socially
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, K-8 or Secondary Education
- Valid Idaho teaching certificate
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in special education or academic support
- Experience working with intervention
- Knowledge of RTI (Response to Intervention) models and evidence-based interventions
- Strong understanding of learning differences and research-based intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Patience, empathy, and a heart for serving and supporting students
