PURPOSE

The purpose of the Migrant Summer School Program is to afford students the opportunity to enhance their academics, social and community exposure through hands on exposure, community experiences and motivational learning in order to meet the state’s standards in reading, writing and math.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interviews and recommends candidates for employment to Human Resources
  • Recognizes and celebrates accomplishments and acknowledges failures.
  • Is willing to challenge and actively challenges the status quo.
  • Recognizes and rewards individual accomplishments.
  • Establishes strong lines of communication with and among teachers and students.
  • Fosters shared beliefs and a sense of community and cooperation.

  • Establishes clear goals and keeps those goals in the forefront of the school’s attention.
  • Communicates and operates from strong ideals and beliefs about schooling.
  • Involves teachers in the design and implementation of important decisions and policies.
  • Ensures faculty and staff are aware of the most current theories and practices and makes the discussion of these a regular aspect of the school’s culture.
  • Is directly involved in the design and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
  • Is knowledgeable about current curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
  • Inspires and leads new and challenging innovations.
  • Establishes a set of standard operating procedures and routines.
  • Is an advocate and spokesperson for the school to all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of the personal aspects of teachers and staff.
  • Provides teachers with materials and professional development necessary for the successful execution of their jobs.
  • Is aware of the details and undercurrents in the running of the school and uses this information to address current and potential problems.
  • Has quality contact and interactions with teachers and students.
  • Performs additional responsibilities set forth by supervising administration.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrator will supervise teachers and classified staff.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Valid Idaho administrative license
  • ESL/ENL endorsed preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Experience in managing/supervising complex educational programs.
  • Experience with Migrant/LEP students preferred
  • Bilingual/Bicultural, Spanish Language Strongly preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental regulations and legal documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or the general public. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is required.

Problem Solving Skills

Demonstrate sound judgement by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.

PRODUCTIVITY/EFFICIENCY SKILLS

Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary; organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to conduct basic math functions, as well as manipulate formulas in spreadsheets.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to define problems…
