About the Role
Excel Global School, an authorized Cambridge International school nestled in the scenic hills of Thiruvattar, invites passionate and experienced educators to join our vibrant academic community. We are currently seeking a dedicated  English Teacher  to deliver the  Cambridge IGCSE (0510)  and  AS & A Level English Language curriculum , focusing on English as a Second Language.
The ideal candidate will inspire students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds to master English communication skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and global awareness.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with  Cambridge IGCSE (0510)  and  AS/A Level English curriculum standards .
Guide students in mastering key components:
Reading for understanding and inference
Effective written communication (formal/informal genres)
Academic and everyday listening
Interactive and expressive speaking tasks
Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with Cambridge learning objectives.
Prepare students for all external examinations, including:
Paper 1 – Reading & Writing
Paper 2 – Listening
Paper 3 – Speaking (Speaking Endorsement)
Provide individual feedback to improve learner performance and language fluency.
Encourage the development of communication, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
Participate in school-wide events, training, and professional learning communities.
Maintain student records, including attendance, assessments, and progress tracking.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Linguistics, TESOL, or related field.
Minimum  2 years of experience  teaching  Cambridge IGCSE/AS & A Level English (ESL) .
Familiarity with the  Cambridge English as a Second Language (0510)  and  A Level  syllabuses, assessments, and grading criteria.
Proficiency in classroom and digital teaching tools.
Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Preferred Skills
Cambridge PDQ or CELTA/DELTA certification.
Experience in conducting speaking assessments and moderation practices.
Experience working with students from multilingual and multicultural backgrounds.
Passion for integrating language learning with global and contemporary themes.
